Our Leaders Are Our Reflection Good or Bad
A blast from the Past but like the present
Years ago, I watched Barack Obama speak to the hopes and dreams of a half a million excited, people. History indeed was being made as a "black" American was going to be moving into the “white house.” I hadn’t imagined that happening in my lifetime. He spoke about CHANGE and HOPE. He spoke about equality, respect, teamwork, oneness, a belief in goodness, power of communities working together, love and a world that bridges all divides and creates a mandate of peace and prosperity for all. He mirrored to all of us on the path of consciousness, a vision for a new earth reality. Like many others I shed some tears, as I thought, “Finally, someone who will make a difference, usher in change, lead us out of the darkness and negativity, bring oneness, make us all feel safe, unite the people, bring forward a new reality, someone who speaks of love for his family and someone reminding each of us that “we are the ones who need to take action to be effective planetary change makers.” Then I realized that it wasn't about Barack Obama doing anything. He was reflecting to us what we believe and the actions we now must take to change our present consensus reality. Whatever we project on to leaders is within ourselves. Leaders are not “the one” nor “our saviours.” They cannot give us a sense of safety, for safety is an internal state of awareness. Hope comes from within. Change comes from within. Unity consciousness comes from within. Dreams come from within. Love and peace are internal. Empowerment comes from NOT giving our power to someone whom we feel can take all our fears away. We are the creators of a new reality and together we create an external to represent our new way of thinking. Whatever we project on to any leader is but a mere reflection of where we are within ourselves. I am aware the Russian Ukrainian drama is serving to trigger our unhealed patterns re being bullied, abused, watching children or certain minorities being unfairly treated. Feelings of powerlessness, frustration, rage, sadness come rushing up to hit us squarely in the heart or solar plexus. Once we recognize the triggering mirror, we can take responsibility for our responses and not blame anyone else. Once cleared of these “triggers” we can move into a space of divine neutrality which allows us to follow the innate, intuitive intelligence of our hearts. From zero point we might be called to action. It may be to pray, meditate, send energy, hold space etc. for all involved, sending money or any kind of physical support, writing letters to political leaders etc. or it may be to gather a group together to offer energies of love, peace, and healing to all. Many will sit quietly in their sacred spaces and open their hearts and energy sending a wave of light to the collective. We do not underestimate the power of intentions coupled with the powerful energy of who we truly are. Yours in support of peace and freedom. Marilyn.
